THE TEAM
The Toyota Woven City is a fully connected ecosystem powered by hydrogen fuel cells to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is envisioned as a ‘living laboratory’ and ‘ever evolving,’ incorporating various types of cutting edge technologies. At the same time, it is also ‘human-centric,’ that is, it is expected to keep people safe and comfortable. Our mission is to guide every single business and service of Woven City to most effectively and passionately move forward towards each operation phase of the ever-evolving city.

The Toyota Woven City contains 10+ key strategic focus areas and logistics business/service is one of the largest themes to be covered. We are planning to deploy cutting edge logistics powered by both software and hardware technology. In addition, we are seeking new business and service opportunities to launch and test in this ‘living laboratory’. 

This role reports to the Product Owner of Logistics Business of Woven City Team.

当該ポジションのレポートラインは、物流ビジネス/サービスのProduct Ownerです。

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a manager who owns future business planning and project management roles. As a business planner, you will be responsible for creating a concept of future logistic business from scratch. You will contact companies both in Japan and other countries to form a cooperative alliance through your vision.

As a project manager for service/product development, you will benchmark our products and other company’s product with R&D team (ex. Robotics) and UX team, and compare them with customer needs. You derive feedbacks from the benchmarking to make our product roadmap valuable to our customers. In development process, you will translate business requirement to technical requirement. You will also manage a development process to meet QCD requirements, listen a voice of customers and continuously improve our products after the launch. In addition to running the regular processes, you are expected to find out missing processes proactively and create them.

製品・サービスの開発では、プロジェクトマネージャーとして、開発チーム(ロボット等)やUXチームとともに、自社製品・他社製品のベンチマークと顧客ニーズとの比較を行い、開発ロードマップを価値あるものにします。開発プロセスにおいては、事業面の要求を技術仕様に落とし込みます。製品ローンチ後も、カスタマーからのフィードバックに耳を傾け、絶え間ない改善に取り組みます。通常のプロセスを回すことに加え、不足するプロセスを見つけて自ら作り出すことも期待されています。

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Business planning: Create a concept of future logistic business to provide novel values to our customers from scratch. Create a business strategy to make it profitable. 
  • Alliance: Search business partners in the world helping our product/service/business development. Form a cooperative alliance with them. 
  • Project management:  Translate business requirement to technical requirement with R&D and design teams. Set a milestone, timeline and criteria of success to accomplish development projects with meeting QCD requirements. Create new mechanisms to manage projects. 
  • 事業企画:カスタマーに新たな価値を提供する物流製品・サービスの企画立案。利益化までの事業戦略の立案。
  • 協業:製品・サービス開発に必要なビジネスパートナーの探索、良好な関係性構築、戦略的な協業に向けた企画立案。
  • 開発プロジェクトマネジメント:事業の要求仕様を、開発・デザインチームとともに技術仕様に落とし込む。計画通りに進めるための、適切なマイルストーン設定、成果物の定義、リスク評価の実施。新たなプロジェクトマネジメントの仕組みの構築。

    MINIMUM SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

     

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of business strategy planning
  • 3+ years of project management for hardware or software product/service development
  • Excellent communication and people engagement skills
  • Business Level proficiency in English and Japanese Language 
  • 関連分野の学士号もしくは同等の経験
  • 事業企画における3年以上の経験
  • 製品・サービス開発におけるプロジェクトマネジメント3年以上の経験
  • 優れたコミュニケーションスキルと周囲へのエンゲージメントスキル
  • ビジネスレベルの英語と日本語

    PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

     

  • Experience in business planning of new product/service from scratch (nice to have experience in monetizing and corroboration with other companies). 
  • Experience in finding out partner companies required for product/service development and leading it to the alliance.
  • Experience in creating project management mechanisms from scratch.
  • Experience in product/service combined with hardware and software (Robotics, IoT, etc.). Experience in managing agile development.
  • Knowledge of logistics, SCM (Supply Chain Management) and automation of work
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field.
  • ゼロから製品・サービスを事業企画した経験(収益化経験まであれば尚可、他社との協同であれば尚可)
  • 事業開発・製品開発に必要な協業先を自ら見つけ、先導し、協業に至った経験
  • プロジェクトマネジメントの仕組みをゼロから構築した経験
  • ハードウェアとソフトウェアを組み合わせた製品・サービスに携わった経験 (ロボット、IoT等)、アジャイル開発をマネージした経験
  • 物流、SCM (サプライチェーンマネジメント)、もしくは作業自動化技術の知識
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II の資格
  • エンジニアリング、ロジスティクス、マーケティング、MBAや関連分野の修士号
