The Head of Japan Talent Acquisition (“TA”), based in Japan, is above all a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader to drive talent acquisitions enabling company growth.  The right candidate will be someone who has a track record of building high performing recruiting teams to scale for growth and partner with stakeholders to create a value proposition to attract and close on candidates.  

You are excited to partner with the leaders to drive global recruiting processes to create a consistently positive experience for candidates, hiring managers, interviewers, recruiters, etc.  You are also flexible and open to sharing the spotlight.  You will be based in Tokyo and will lead the TA team for Japan, with ownership for some of our global processes, working in collaboration with the Global Recruiting team. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Build and develop a high performing talent acquisition team into trusted advisors and full lifecycle recruiting experts, to enable Woven Planet’s rapid growth plans
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify hiring needs, develop strategies and action plans to hire the right candidates at the right time to help achieve their OKRs
  • Create innovative sourcing tactics and develop team members to do direct sourcing and recruiting to decrease dependency on agencies (external recruiters), while increasing and maintaining the quality of hires
  • Partner with stakeholders including the global recruiting team to help design and drive global recruiting, interviewing and hiring practices to enable a consistent positive candidate experience. 
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and leadership teams to ensure co-ownership of hiring strategies
  • Develop metrics to measure the overall productivity and effectiveness of the recruiting team including optimal Return on Investment (“ROI”)
  • Partner with Communications for recruiting events to elevate the Woven Planet brand to attract and increase engagement with candidates
  • Advocate for, and foster diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices in all aspects of selection, assessment, and hiring
  • Build lasting partnerships with leaders in the business. Earn their trust and respect, and in turn, grant them yours. Challenge leaders and help them grow.
  • Provide inspirational leadership with active listening, empathy, inclusivity, and modeling company values to maximize the performance of the teams and individuals

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

  • Extensive talent acquisition leadership experience partnering with executives/senior leadership
  • Proven experience in leading talent acquisition teams and a successful track record of building to scale, advise and influence, enabling the company for growth
  • Exemplifies strong leadership skills in developing recruiters to be trusted advisors and recruiting experts and team-building with proven ability to build bridges with all parts of the business
  • Innovative thinker in developing and implementing direct sourcing strategies in sourcing and attract candidates including recruiting DEI strategies to enhance a diverse slate of candidates
  • Experience in crafting a compelling value proposition including elevating the company brand to attract candidates and build organic applicant flow
  • Expertise in leveraging data-driven decision-making across all aspects of recruiting and hiring, and creating metrics and reports to enable actionable items for success and processes improvement
  • Solid understanding of both Japanese and global business culture
  • Comfortable operating in a startup environment or high-growth company
  • Good commercial acumen, understanding the business, and following industry trends
  • Innovative and able to think outside of the box to solve complex issues
  •
