TEAM
The Automated Mapping Platform team is responsible for developing a new high definition mapping cloud platform by integrating sensor data from vehicles and global imagery from satellites. It is an open software platform based on a contribution model, where participating developers accept to supply anonymized sensor data to the platform. In return every developer has easy, safe, open and sustainable access to high definition maps from across industries, fleets and car makers.

AMP SpaceMaps team is challenged with creating global scale maps from petabyte scale imagery data sets. The team is heavily involved in leveraging state of the art GIS, ML and computer vision technologies for massively scalable data pipelines and services.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We need a veteran product leader with mapping experience to own map delivery: defining product strategy all the way through delivering on it while working directly with engineering teams. This is a newly formed and growing team so the ideal candidate will be ready to roll up their sleeves and act as a “player-coach” working directly with some engineering teams as their Product Manager with some of their time and mentoring and growing a team of Product Managers in this product area with the rest of their time.

  • Take high-level customer/product goals, identify the requirements, integration points with other teams/customers, and shepherd the work from planning through delivery
  • Manage schedules, identify risks, and clearly communicate them to stakeholders and executives
  • Ensure continuity of geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders
  • Dig deep into vector geospatial data management pipelines, user-facing applications/services, and messy raw data to derive value and simplify
