Senior Manager, People Relations

In this role, you'll: 

  • Lead the People Relations (PR) team with best-in-class investigations infrastructure and practices, and scaling the team for future growth
  • Manage a team of PR Partners to ensure investigations, reorganizations and workplace concerns are handled in a fair and timely manner, and that appropriate recommendations are made consistent with local legal requirements and Waymo policy
  • Coach and ensure the team provides pragmatic advice and counsel to People Partners on a wide range of employee relations challenges in strong partnership with our Employment Legal team
  • Support the development of people relations capability among People Partners and managers through coaching, education and training
  • Track, analyze and interpret employee relations metrics to provide insights on trends and opportunities to People Partners and the business
  • Leverage data, analysis and understanding of the business, provide thought leadership to identify Employee Relations trends to inform the PR strategy and execution

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 12+ years of employee relations/labor relations investigations experience gained in either an HRBP role, employee relations advisory role, or equivalent experience as an employment attorney practicing employment law
  • Experience dealing with employment law principles and conducting and advising on investigations
  • People management experience

It’s preferred if you have:

  • JD with employment law focus and/or experience
  • Experience advising on a wide range of employee relations issues, including reorganizations and performance issues
  • Ability to establish strong cross-functional relationships at all levels and geographies.
  • Ability to listen, but also to persuasively convey opinions and recommendations both in speaking and writing
  • Project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage global projects
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and an ability to analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
