Finance Manager – Accounts Payable (PTP) for Americas

As Finance Manager for Accounts Payable / Purchase to Pay within the Finance department of Americas region you will be located in Charleston, SC where you will lead a team of three members that aim every day to achieve new heights of operational efficiencies in Purchase to pay (PTP) processes for Volvo Cars and Polestar entities in Americas’ region. You will be responsible for PTP activities in line with the global processes and will have special focus on increasing collaboration, automation, and efficiency.

 

Strong communication skills are a key in this role, and you will need to build your network on a global level. In this role you also need a genuine interest in creating a clear vision and inspiring people to align and execute to be able to reach desired objectives. Developing people in needed skills is also essential part of this role.

 

In this role you also need a genuine interest in delivering a premium experience to internal business partners and external suppliers to be able to create value and help the company on its transformation journey towards electrification.

 

What you’ll do

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Leading accounts payable / PTP team which has 5 Volvo Cars entities and 2 Polestar entities across Americas region
  • Leading & managing the intercompany and related parties’ entities transaction flows as well as reconciliation intercompany accounts in Americas’ region. This also includes driving intercompany process improvements across the entities within Volvo Cars and Polestar.
  • Functional lead for OTC process for Americas region, driving process improvements and harmonization across the sales entities within Volvo Cars and Polestar.
  • Lead the PTP team in resolution on inquires proactively
  • Responsible for automation and process efficiency in PTP for all entities in the region
  • Leading the transactional shared services center (SSC) OTC team (India), motivating the team to deliver efficient processes, leveraging automation and standardization to deliver excellent transactional PTP accounting services to the business. Managing the governance structure for the SSC.
  • Leading compliance with SOX act for Polestar entities as well as local accounting principles and regulations in the PTP area for respective entity
  • Identifying and leading process improvements implementation within Americas team
  • Support each entity’s CFO to better manage supplier relationships and manage supplier claims with Purchasing department
  • Secure that the team has the right knowledge and competence for current and future challenges
  • Develop relationships with accounting, legal, tax, Sales Units and other stakeholders in order to provide transparency into the purchase to pay processes as well as consistently enhance the overall quality of the process
  • Measure, analyse and improve metrics (KPIs) for PTP processes across all teams (FO and SSC India)
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company’s policies & procedures
  • Lead Book Closing processes for PTP team and ensure timely reporting of financials of PTP areas
  • Collaborating with Cash & Bank team (based in Madrid, Spain) to ensure timely payment netting and clearing as well as manual payments that have low payment terms

 

Who are we looking for?

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting with around 8 years of relevant experience from an international organization.
  • Strong Leadership skills with exceptional abilities that make you special than the rest, highly able to lead and inspire people towards a positive change
  • Excellent knowledge of Finance processes and policies and full ability of applying these in daily operations
  • Ability to work and be comfortable in a dynamic environment under continuous development
  • Proactive, have great interpersonal skills and communicate in a clear and direct way; building trust and relations within the organization and with our internal and external business partners
  • Tech-savvy, energetic with Can-Do mind-set
  • Fluent in English, verbally and written. Spanish is a plus.

System Competences

  • Proficient in SAP, MS Office 365 applications
  • Knowledge of automation tools (robotics and others) is a plus.
