We are looking for a highly motivated Control System Engineer in Cincinnati, OH with at least 10 years of professional work experience in the field of vehicle control. The candidate should have a clear understanding of the vehicle dynamics, and extensive experience in the development of high and low-level control algorithms for vehicles. This experience must include: selecting appropriate control algorithms, designing proper tests, and verifying the algorithm’s performance on the vehicle.
The candidate should be able to transfer their theoretical knowledge into practical applications.
Responsibilities:
To develop and test control algorithms to be implemented on an autonomous vehicle
To verify the proper performance of the algorithms over time
To identify the critical states and parameters of the system
Design the tests for parameter estimation and model verification in the real environment
Aide in developing vehicle’s dynamic models
Work cross-functionally with various groups including, path planning, localization, perception, etc.
Requirements:
Deep knowledge of control algorithms such as linear and nonlinear control, optimal control, adaptive control, etc.
Understanding the linear and nonlinear behavior of complex physical systems
Understand the key methods for parameter and state estimation in the field of autonomous driving
Knowledge in control design and stability of linear and nonlinear systems
Capable of analyzing dynamic model performance in MATLAB/Simulink via data analysis
Strong communication and preference to work in teams
Desire to work in a startup business environment
Preferred:
Programming knowledge in C++ and ROS is a big plus
Understand the concepts of Perception – Static and Dynamic objects, Ego localization, OEDR (Object and Event Detection & response)
Familiar with hardware used for self-driving cars
Understand the safety frameworks and current industry practices for vehicle development
Experience with product development, launching products into production, failure analyses such as DFMEA, design validation testing, and supporting production end-of-line functional tests and calibration
