Used Vehicle Intake Supervisor – Bay Area or Southern CA


The Role

At Tesla, our Used
Vehicle Intake Supervisor will be the front line of all cars coming into
Tesla’s Used Vehicle Program. You will exercise your exceptional people skills
to guide personnel in being the on-the-ground eyes responsible for ensuring a
true picture of the quality of the cars is capture prior to the car in-take.  Your proven record of driving improvement and agility
in responding to customer escalations will set the tone for the rest of the
team. In addition, your strong collaborative skills allows you to bring cross
functional teams together to effectively solve complex problems. Your presence
will bring structure to the team and bring the best performance out of each of
your employees.

The position requires a
significant amount of interaction with Customers, Technicians, Used Vehicle
Quality Specialists, Acquisition Specialist, and 3rd Party providers.
The ideal candidate will not only possess a customer service mindset, but also
the ability to provide a basic level of body repair estimating experience.

  • Delegate responsibilities and manage schedule for the team of
    Used Vehicle Inspector.
  • Provide coaching and training to inspectors .
  • Handle customer escalation and escalate to managements as
  • Drive improvements in quality operations.
  • When volume requires, assist Used Vehicle Inspectors in
    completing field inspections.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to Used Vehicle team and
  • Assist in management of material disposition.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of Used Vehicle Intake


  • 4-6 years of auto damage appraisal experience.
  • 5+ years of customer service experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience with a team of 10 or more
  • Knowledge of methods, techniques,
    parts, tools and materials used in vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Experience
    identifying after-market parts.
  • Experience
    using Audatex.
  • Intermediate computer skills,
    including navigating web browsers and using standard applications (Office 365)
  • Excellent oral and written
    communication skills as well as the ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain
    cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to travel to multiple work
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends
    and holidays as needed.
  • Must have and maintain a
    valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record
