Responsibilities

Tesla is looking for an individual experienced with training personnel on manufacturing best practices to contribute to the Factory Training team at Gigafactory Texas. As a Technical Training Instructor, you will build a world-class manufacturing training program from the ground up. You will leverage your experience in production operations, adult learning principles, and process optimization to support operational excellence. Applicants will have a passion for, and understanding of, personal development through the training process. You must have outstanding communication, presentation, and organizational skills while demonstrating a positive, motivational, and professional appearance. The Technical Training Instructor will take responsibility for developing training campaigns to optimize productivity and promote employee retention through continuous development. The Technical Training Instructor will also mentor Training Coordinators within a systematic training program. A strong sense of ownership and accountability is expected. Instructors will provide support to students and fellow staff members, work in a lab setting providing hands-on instruction with safety in mind, keep accurate records of student achievement, and an ability to maintain discipline in a classroom setting. In this role you will work with Safety, Quality, HR, and Production departments to set the standard for excellence across the organization.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a training role.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize in highly dynamic production environment.
• Open collaborative style: ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction.
• Innovative, flexible, and positive teaching style combined with understanding the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Exceptional ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of technicians, engineers, and managers.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Technology Skills: Ability to integrate computer applications into teaching.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program. Ability to establish a maintain collegial relationships with students, peers, staff, and administrators.
• Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point).
