Responsibilities

You will be assisting in the development of the Tesla Semi-Truck, and will design system models for mechanical, electrical and thermal systems, and assist in system integration and system design areas. Multisystem, multiphysics models, and integration and architecture development will shape system level optimization and performance tuning efforts and drive new technologies for Semi-Truck and other vehicle programs. Your primary goal will be in maximizing system efficiencies and delivering stable performance, reliability and safety across vehicle areas. To do so, you will collaborate with cross- functional partners, design teams, and external vendors/ suppliers. Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of Matlab, LabView, and/or Python, Data Acquisition Tools and Software
  • Working knowledge of Simulink and LTSpice as well as other CAE/ FEA tools
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, physics, and thermal first principles and fundamentals
  • Exposure to AC/DC power systems, fuses, transformers, power converters, electrical distribution
  • Exposure to dynamics and operations of diodes, capacitors, inductors, and resistive circuits
  • Exposure to complex system design (eg: vehicle drivetrain, thermal, or chassis systems or eqv)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a ‘go-getter’ approach to problem solving
  • Previous exposure in tackling multiphysics system-level problems
  • Previous exposure to FSAE, BAJA, E-FSAE, Solar Car, Other Automotive Projects
  • Heavy duty vehicle design exposure (eg: trucks, buses, quads etc)
