The Role: Supervisor, Material Flow Automation

Tesla has an immediate opening for a Material Flow
Automation Supervisor to join the Production Control Engineering team at the
Gigafactory in Sparks, NV. We are seeking an energetic, skilled,
cost-conscious, team-oriented individual to be responsible for the performance
of equipment and maintenance technicians on shift. The incumbent will manage a
team of technicians to ensure that perform at a high level while meeting the needs
of the production floor. The individual will be responsible for all production
engineering-related metrics for their shift. He/she will performance manage
their team to generate the highest value from every employee while maintaining
a high level of technical ability.


  • 2 years of college/technical
    school or equivalent work experience, Gigafactory experience strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years of supervisory
    experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lead and prioritize
    safety guidelines in unique repair situations (Rigging, working with
    cranes/hoists, etc…)
  • Applicable documented Training
    and/or Certifications a plus.
  • Expertise knowledge on preventative
    maintenance on conveyance, AGVs, robots, etc.
  • Must have understanding of general
    manufacturing processes, automation, and controls.
  • Experience maintaining and
    troubleshooting industrial electrical panels/systems.
  • Must demonstrate reliability,
    initiative, and desire to learn.
  • Must be adaptable in work schedule
    and working environment
  • Effective verbal and written
    communications skills along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and
  • Capable of providing constructive
    feedback to subordinates
  • Maintains confidentiality of
    sensitive and proprietary information
  • Multitasks and adapts to constant
  • Able to use Microsoft Office
  • Able to wear all required PPE
    associated with required tasks
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk
    for 10+ hours per day, wear air purifying respirator as needed for specific
    tasks, Lift at least 10 -20 lbs on a regular basis, perform repetitive hand and
    wrist motions and sometimes may have to twist and bend body, and climb
  • Must be able to work in loud
    environment, discern audible alarms, distinguish colors and possess accurate
    depth perception
  • Tesla people leaders are
    responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance
    functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current,
    documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the
    areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations.
  • Familiar with OSHA regulations.

    manufacturing environment.
