Responsibilities

At Tesla we always strive to build the best possible cars for our customers. We do this by delivering the right parts, right quantity, at the right time and right quality to our assembly points, utilizing various techniques. As the Staff Process Engineering for the Production Control Analytics team, responsibilities will be focused on managing the team that is the Logistics System experts, which is used to receive, signal, replenish, and transact material to the Production lines. The role requires broad understanding of material flow and supply chain concepts, ERP systems, and ability to lead a team of engineers and work cross-functionally with multiple departments such as IT, Supply Planning, Operations, Finance, to solve challenging problems and system limitations impacting productivity.

The hired team member will be required to configure, troubleshoot and analyze the software for sustaining operations, continuous improvements, and major program and process launches and train new team members. They will also be required to work with the software development teams to communicate issues and drive functionality improvements. They will also be launching the Production Control Orientation and Training program for incoming associates.

Requirements

  • Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain related minimum bachelor’s degree required.
  • Business Systems and Analytics related Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of people management experience or cross-functional project leadership experience is preferred.
  • Preferred candidates will have 3 – 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Leadership Style: Self-starter must be able to work with little direction and with high level of self-motivation. Must be able to work on own initiative and work well in a group.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL required.
  • Experience with 3D CAD is preferred.
  • Well-organized project management skills, program management background a plus.
  • Product Management certifications is a plus.
  • Proficiency in and the ability to model and implement the following concepts: empowerment and teamwork; TPS leadership philosophy and human resources practices; kaizen; standardized work; PDCA and problem solving; 5S; quality improvement tools; JIT production tools including: Value Stream Mapping, lead-time reduction, set-up time reduction, process flow improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Advanced PC skills with standard MS Office software.
