Sr Industrialization Engineer



  • As a Senior Industrialization Engineer on Tesla’s Tooling & Industrial Engineering team you will be responsible for industrialization, planning and fulfillment of all of the custom service/install tools used for Tesla commercial energy products world-wide. You will also support project management and supply chain management of mission critical tooling and sustaining engineering projects by working closely with field service, service engineering, product design, external vendors and supply chain team.

    You will work with internal customers to identify and develop practical solutions to enable fast, seamless, and revolutionary service. The ideal candidate is someone who gets excited about solving a variety of problems, competent at managing fast paced projects, highly analytical, and sees the big picture needed to evolve a concept into a product. The ideal candidate has a good mix of industrial, mechanical and process engineering skills and possesses a strong understanding of manufacturing concepts.   • Evidence of exceptional ability required.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field from ABET accredited program.
  • 4-6 years of Experience in project management, mechanical of electrical manufacturing, process efficiency improvements.
  • Supply chain management including overseas suppliers is a big plus.
  • Strong 3D CAD experience, CATIA, PDM, GD&T knowledge a plus.
  • Tooling fulfillment, DFM and design experience a plus.
  • Hands on experience building mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Automotive, Aerospace, or heavy equipment industry experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with Regulatory compliance is a plus- (OSHA, CE, CCC, ASME related standards)
  • Machine shop and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to research information, solve challenging problems, and coordinate projects under tight timing constraints.
  • Excellent fundamental engineering knowledge and have examples of applied engineering success through.
  • work, projects, or academic endeavors.
  • Familiarity with working with various outside suppliers and managing deliverables.
  • Ability to work autonomously to manage projects and maintain communication with interested parties.
  • Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment: pro-active team player who thinks ahead, plans, and suggests solutions.
