Responsibilities
Tesla is seeking an ambitious Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, and facilities leaders and advise on a wide range of EHS disciplines. They will use human and organizational principles to drive ownership of safety, health and environmental impacts, with a focus on engagement, learning from events, and systems-level problem solving.
The EHS Specialist will develop, implement, and continuously improve programs within the EHS Management System framework in partnership with the broader Global EHS, engineering, and manufacturing ecosystems. They will also ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and conformance to internal, industry and consensus standards, as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety,
Engineering, or related field. - Minimum 5 years work experience as an environmental, health
or safety professional, preferably in a manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, mining,
heavy chemical industry, oil & gas, construction, or similar industrial
segment. - Experience leading EHS program development, training all
levels of personnel, and influencing/managing change. - Advanced applied knowledge health and safety disciplines
including Hazard Communication, LOTO, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Safe
Work at Height, Powered Industrial Vehicles, Ergonomics, and Equipment Safety. - Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
while managing competing demands and tight deadlines. - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
(Excel, Work, Power Point, Project, etc.). - Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
