Responsibilities

The Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety
(EHS) Specialist will be responsible for a broad range of technical work across
EHS disciplines with an emphasis placed on reducing risk, empowering
stakeholders, and doing the basics right. The Senior EHS Specialist will play a
lead role in facilitating EHS program implementation, risk assessment, incident
analysis, and EHS training for the High Pressure Die Casting operations
organization. The Senior EHS Specialist will perform work both individually and
in cross-functional teams to empower all personnel to drive continuous
improvement. You will drive efforts to implement safety as a part of design and
launch of new foundry equipment to support future programs. This
will help to further establish EHS programs in our foundry and drive the
development of our new processes for aluminum high-pressure die-casting in safe
manner.

Requirements

  • 7+ years or more working as an EHS Engineer or
    EHS Specialist 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety,
    Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or Safety-related
    discipline Certifications – CSP / ASP, CIH, CPE certifications 
  • Advanced
    competency in controlling critical hazards including Working at Heights,
    Electrical Safety, Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Spaces, Mobile
    Equipment, and Crane-Hoisting / Lifting and all regulatory compliance
    obligations 
  • Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and
    documenting federal, state and local safety and health regulations and industry
    best practices
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels
    of an organization 
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
    while managing competing demands and tight deadlines 
  • Highly organized with
    meticulous attention to detail 
  • Evidence of exceptional ability 
  • Manufacturing is
    a 24/7 operation; must be available to support emergency incident response and
    work occasional nights and weekends

 

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree Experience working in metal
die casting, metal forming, automotive paint shop, spray-finishing operation,
chemical manufacturing, or other heavy manufacturing environment.
