Responsibilities
The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for
programming automation and controls systems involving PLCs (programmable logic
controllers) and troubleshooting all controls driven manufacturing equipment.
The ideal candidate will also be involved in manufacturing processes and
provides related technical support. This requires overseeing manufacturing
projects and coordinating activities with various internal and external
suppliers/system integrators. This also involves conceptual design, development
and launching new automation production lines to manufacture Tesla vehicles.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s
degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Controls or
Electronics Engineering, or evidence of exceptional ability.
• Minimum
5 years of proven experience in PLC logic and programming with any of the
following PLCs: Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Siemens, Automation Direct,
Mitsubishi etc.
• Minimum
5 years of working experience with programming languages such as RS Logix 5, RS
Logix 500, RS Logix 5000, Panel Builder software’s, Allen Bradley Drive Tools
software’s, Symax, Unico, & Allen Bradley GML.
• Understanding
of databases and various program languages (Java, Python).
• HMI
programming experience – Ignition and Wonderware.
• Strong
motivation to implement new technology and robot automation manufacturing lines
launching automated manufacturing lines.
• Proficient
in CAD working with electrical diagrams and prints and experience with
SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Catia V5.
• Proven
project management experience.
• Flexibility
in working weekends and night shift as needed for integration, installation,
and commissioning.
• Strong
computer skills and experience in the use of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Power
Point, and Word) and Microsoft Project.
• Must
have strong problem-solving skills.
• Must
be able to accomplish results independently and communicate effectively with
all departments.
• Project
Management skills.
• Ability
to spend extended period of times on the manufacturing plant floor during
production and new equipment launch.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
• Six
Sigma Green Belt Certification.
• Lean
manufacturing methodology related certifications.
• Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Manufacturing
knowledge in assembly, fabrication, machining, and welding.
• Knowledge
of ABB or Fanuc or Kuka Robots programming.
