Disclaimer: This position is expected to start around August or September 2022 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through December/January) or into early Spring 2023 if available. We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time, for most internships. Please consider before submitting an application.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time depending on their academic standing.

About the Team

The Security Operations intern will be provided with opportunities across a number of areas within the Security Operations team at Gigafactory Nevada (GFNV). These areas include, security operations, security systems training, corporate security compliance, De-escalation of force , security awareness, and security best practices and standards. Under general supervision, the individual will work with our Security Operations Site Supervisor to support in Corporate Security Compliance. The Intern will receive the opportunity to build professional relationships, enhance interpersonal skills, and gain on-the-job training and mentorship through handling real time security incidents. The Security Operations intern will handle a variety of duties within these areas.

Responsibilities & General Duties:

* Shadow Security Operations Site Supervisor to gain exposure to areas of responsibility.
* Attend weekly team operations meetings.
* Conduct review of security operations procedures and training materials, and update as needed.
* Collaborate with team on documenting security best practices in effort to create security standards.
* Provide input on security awareness offerings and help develop program.
* Elevate unresolved issues/ problems to security management.

Qualifications:

* Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Homeland Security or related field.
* Critical thinking, and make good judgements to coincide with Tesla’s policies.
* Must be able to multitask during emergency and normal operational situations and have the ability to change priorities as needed.
* Communication, Team work and Innovation are essential, as well as taking independent initiative on task to be completed.
* Ability to work discreetly and demonstrate good judgment as will have access to confidential information at times.
* The student will periodically need to operate company vehicles during their assignment for field work; therefore, a valid driver’s license and safe driving is required.
