Tesla is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on large scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement-Construction project that requires exceptional talent. The product portfolio is expanding with never-built-before production lines, and requirements demand cell production volume at a scale which was once thought to be impossible to reach. In this role, you will be asked to be the primary mechanical engineering lead for the design and engineering efforts to support construction of infrastructure development, from concept level to production.

Requirements

· Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred

· Minimum 10 of years HVAC and Process Systems design experience

· Registered and in good standing as a Professional Engineer (PE) with active NCEES record and ability to acquire State PE license for Nevada

· Professional design experience in a wide range of project types including industrial cooling tower systems, chiller plants, boiler plants, office, mission critical/data centers, restaurant, high tech/R&D, bio-tech/pharmaceutical and industrial

· Fundamental understanding mechanical systems including, not limited to; Dehumidification Units, Air Scrubbers, Dust Collectors, Heat Exchangers (shell/tube, plate/frame, brazed fin), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Compressors, process gas/fluid systems, Air Handling Units, Terminal Units, Fans / Blowers, Pumps, Control Valves and Instrumentation, Hazardous Exhaust, Dehumidification Units, Heat Recovery Systems.

· Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.

· International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes (codes including Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Energy Conservation, Fuel Gas, and Fire Codes),

· ASHRAE Handbooks / Standards

· SMACNA Standards

· Proficient in the use of various computer programs such as HVAC load calculations, Pipe-flo, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.

· Knowledge and experience with writing sequences of operation

· Construction Administration experience including site observation visits and review of RFIs, and shop drawings

· Direct experience in the preparation of mechanical contract drawings and engineering specifications
