  • What to Expect
    • Be on the forefront of bringing dry battery electrode manufacturing technology and the 4680 battery cell to high volume production- making substantial contribution to the acceleration of sustainable energy
    • Join a team of talented and driven engineers to evaluate and internally develop new equipment technologies that enable advances in throughput, quality, performance, and cost in Dry Battery Electrode Manufacturing.
    • Collaborate closely with our materials, process development, and global manufacturing engineering teams.
    • Expect engaging technical problems, diverse work activities, and the opportunity to impact critical problems to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.

Requirements

  • What you’ll bring
    • Mechanical Design Experience:  released designs to production (design could be a product or the equipment to manufacture the product)
    • Strong engineering fundamentals in most of the following areas:  mechanics of materials, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, process engineering, mechanical design
    • Data analysis ability including scripting in python, matlab and statistical analysis.  
    • Strong technical communication using data and engineering principles
    • Experience with powder conveyance systems, feeders, mixers, and mills 
    • Familiar with fabrication methods including: machining, rolling, welding,  additive manufacturing, molding, extrusions
    • Familiar with thermal system design: pumps, heat exchangers, piping, refrigeration cycles, etc.
    • Nice to have:  familiar with electric powertrains, electrochemical battery cells and battery systems
    • Familiar with material chacterization methods such as: DSC, TGA, SEM, XRD, PSA, etc.
    • Software: Solidworks, Matlab, Microsoft Office, Python, StarCCM+, JMP, ANSYS
    • Education:  BS or MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science Engineer.
    • Experience:  4+ years of relevant work experience.
