Responsibilities
Tesla
is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to work on the design and deployment
of new mixing systems in order to rapidly scale Tesla’s 4680 cell manufacturing
capacity.
We
are looking for expertise in process system design, bulk material handling, mixing
processes (dry or slurry), and factory integration. This includes
understanding of equipment design, installation/commissioning, and mass
production operations. Candidate backgrounds can be in a variety of
industries, such as pharmaceuticals, fast-moving consumer goods, energy, semiconductor,
or specialty chemicals.
The
candidate must be driven, understand the workings of a production facility, and
be passionate about scaling Tesla’s capacity to produce high quality cells at
massive volumes. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits as
they join a team working hard to accelerate the world’s transition to
sustainable energy. If you do not fit all the qualities listed below but are
excited to help push Tesla’s mixing systems forward, please do not hesitate to
apply.
The
Battery Cell is one of the most complex and challenging components designed and
manufactured at Tesla. This is an exciting opportunity to help build
world-class manufacturing facilities from the ground up in a rapidly growing industry.
Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment, and as a part of the cell
manufacturing team you will get to work on a foundational component of Tesla’s
exciting vehicle and clean energy products.
Within
the cell manufacturing organization, manufacturing engineers work in
cross-functional teams
involving
process development, safety, controls, and production teams to bring the new lines
from initial design to full production at scale within Tesla’s Gigafactories.
The cell mixing equipment engineering group is a global team
focused on equipment and system engineering for Tesla’s cell manufacturing
facilities. This role will be involved in the design, development,
commissioning, and ramping of multi-million dollar mixing systems.
This role
will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the design of
future cell mixing lines and the scaling of Tesla’s global 4680 production
capacity. You will work as part of a small group focused on standardizing and streamlining
the mixing system design process in order to drastically reduce the cost and time
required to deploy new mixing capacity.
This is a fast-paced environment, and
within this team you will be able to make a direct impact on the speed of
building and ramping Tesla’s current and future mixing lines.
