Manager, Technical Program Management – Gigafactory Texas

The Role:  
In this role, you will be leading the Technical Program Management Team that owns Giga Texas scoping, technical planning, integration of manufacturing layouts and drive the factory design and construction from concept definition, design to execution and production. 
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading high performing teams within factory engineering, manufacturing, construction, and technical program management. 
  • Directly responsible for the success of the TPM team and own all of factory Plan of Record and scope definition by leading the team that’s integrating comprehensive factory requirements, layouts, and goals
  • Fundamentally understands and scrutinizes technical stakeholders’ requirements and translate them into project scope with clear execution plan and responsibilities
  • Owns the factory scoping efforts by pulling together the cross functional teams, understands their needs, drives technical planning, defines options/tradeoffs/cost/schedule/impacts, and secures alignment between the working and leadership teams
  • Owns program vision and strategies. Manages schedules, requirements and reporting tools for visibility on progress, risks, changes, etc. 
  • Be the bridge that secures program alignment between the large cross functional team needed to design, plan, and build a manufacturing factory Notably, various manufacturing teams, production, factory engineering, construction, facilities, material flow, workplace & people spaces, and more
  • Leads leadership reviews, funding requests & cross function investigations and studies
  • B.S. in Engineering and M.S. preferred, OR equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 10+ years of experience directly managing highly technical engineering and/or program management teams and driving manufacturing and industrial projects from concept to delivery
  • Experience and understanding of building and manufacturing facilities design and construction
  • Advanced project management skills and demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to understand complex problems and distill the message into a clear plan
  • Positive, enthusiastic, can-do mindset with a passionate about manufacturing infrastructure and building successful teams
  • Thrives under pressure and in ambiguous environments
  • Subcontractor and consulting engineer management experience
