Responsibilities

Tesla’s Battery Materials Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to be the Maintenance & Reliability Manager and Mechanical Commissioning lead for a novel battery chemical plant near Corpus Christi, TX.   You, as the Mechanical Commissioning Lead, will interface closely with the Project and Operations teams to develop and implement the mechanical commissioning plan while building out and leading a mechanical commissioning team that will transition into the core maintenance & reliability organization post startup. 

Requirements

  • Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems.   
  • 8+ years in a chemical manufacturing environment, with experience leading maintenance and reliability organizations. Experience with solids handling, rotary calcination and hydro-metallurgical equipment is a plus. 
  • Expert acumen in conducting RCFAs and developing/implementing effective solutions. 
  • Proficient in ASME codes and standards for performing inspection and quality surveillance of fixed equipment (pressure vessels, boilers, etc.) 
  • Strong experience in implementing effective mechanical seal maintenance and reliability programs. 
  • Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours.  
  • Demonstrated passion for establishing a culture and systems that deliver strong reliability-centered maintenance results. 

Strong experience in implementing effective mechanical seal maintenance and reliability programs. 

Proven ability to operate under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally requiring extended hours.
