Responsibilities

The Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) Technician will report to the NPI Supervisor and will be responsible for leading a group of NPI technicians, performing NPI Builds, line trials and maintaining the NPI area.  This person is expected to be able to execute against provided manufacturing instructions (if available), validate their own work, check the quality of previous operations, mentor production associates, lead builds in defined area, and meet schedules.  The NPI Technician is expected to be able to provide feedback, define standard work, and suggest process improvements.  Experience with hand tools and use of semi-automated manufacturing equipment is necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in assembly of electro-mechanical
  • components
  • Previous experience leading/mentoring indirect reporting crews of
  • 5+
  • Basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical
  • systems
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions and
  • mechanical drawings with basic understanding of electrical systems
  • Must have a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
  • married with the ability to work quickly
  • Basic machine shop skills desired — welding skills a PLUS
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Must be reliable, have good initiative, committed, and quality
  • focused and have the ability to manage his/her time to juggle multiple tasks
