The Role
The
SSD Instructor Trainee role is a temporary
3-month assignment in the START/Service Training Team, reporting to Manager,
START Program. This is a Full-Time role working a minimum of 40 hours per week.
The SSD Instructor Trainee is responsible for supporting the lead instructor
on the day-to-day relationship with our local SSD leaders, all aspects of the
academic experience, and ensuring participants are effectively equipped and
managed to take their place as Service Technicians & Sale Associates in a
Tesla Center.
The SSD Instructor Trainee role requires someone with a strong
desire for leadership, teamwork, and people development. Individuals must be
creative, proactive, organized, flexible, results-oriented, and have a passion
for teaching others about electric vehicles. Must have outstanding
communication and organizational skills while demonstrating a positive and
professional demeanor.
Responsibilities (Technical Training & START)
- Partner with START
Instructors to identify, recruit, onboard, and train START program
participants. - Assist instructors with
managing up to 15 Service & START technicians with the highest level of
professionalism to deliver the best quality Technical Training possible. - Apply learned teaching style to
instructional course facilitation. - Make 5-6 recommendations for
opportunities for growth in instruction or assignment. - Provide ongoing coaching and
support to Service & START technicians as well as document coaching moments
as an assistant. - Provide support as an
administrative assistance: document feedback, input grades, assign homework. - Serve as functioning member of
the Tesla SSD Training Organization. - Partner with Service Leads
to validate skill and expertise of service employees. - Maintain expert knowledge of:
methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and
repair of vehicles. - Maintain expert knowledge of
problem solving and customer experience as applied within the Tesla Service
environment. - Ensure that programs and
processes are developed, assessed, communicated, and administered in compliance
with Tesla’s objectives. - Manage the operations of the training
location including, but not limited to: inventory vehicle maintenance and
tooling/equipment maintenance, location set-up, scheduling, communications,
safety, etc.
Requirements
- Participants must be a
minimum of an S3 service technician level. Mastery completions are preferred
but not required.
Physical
Requirements
- Ability
to perform repetitious duties including: regularly lift up to 25 lbs., sit,
bend and stand for long periods of time - Must
be able to occasionally lift to 50 lbs., climb or balance, kneel or crouch, and
reach to retrieve parts. - Specific
vision abilities required include: ability to identify parts, operate systems,
and identify potential safety hazards in the parts department
