Responsibilities

Industrial Hygiene (IH) Technicians are a critical part of the EHS team at Tesla. Reporting to the IH lead, the IH Technician will assist with Industrial Hygiene initiatives, projects, and day-to-day internal consulting for the local EHS team and Production/Manufacturing engineering. This role will provide direct support to the site Industrial Hygienist, EHS Specialists, EHS Management and Production/Manufacturing partners. The IH Technician will assist with sampling needs, employee health risk assessments, risk reduction initiatives, IH related Take Charges, improving compliance/participation ratios of Medical Surveillance Programs (RPP, HCP, HWO, Etc.).

Requirements

• Associates Degree or higher-level education, degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, or Environmental preferred
• Work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
• Basic understanding of general manufacturing safety and hazard recognition
• Advanced computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Able to rapidly respond to employee health emergencies and activate emergency procedures
• Available for second or third shift schedule along with weekend work as needed
• Well organized, excellent attention to details and a passion for all things Environment, Health and Safety
• Evidence of exceptional ability: Clear communication, teamwork, problem solving skills, and ability to adapt quickly to changes
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and/or walk for 10+ hrs daily
• Ability to climb stairs
