Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly motivated and
talented engineering technician to join our Structural Testing team. Our team
is responsible for the durability and strength testing of a wide range
components on the vehicle – including Chassis, Body in White and Drive Unit
systems. As a technician, you will have an active role in fabricating and
building test setups, executing structural strength and durability testing with
high force hydraulic equipment and root causing system level issues. In
addition, you will have an active role in our product’s development as well as
in ensuring our cars are safe and reliable according to Tesla standards. A
successful candidate for this role must have a strong hands-on background in an
engineering environment (ideally in testing), as well as the passion and drive
to get things done in a dynamic environment.
Requirements

4+ years’ experience in an engineering
technician role
·
Associate degree or 2 year
technical/automotive degree or automotive OEM test technician training and
equivalent work experience
·
Experience with fabrication equipment (e.g.
Band Saw, Drill Press)
·
Analytical problem-solving skills & root
cause analysis
·
Able to work well under pressure while
managing competing demands and tight deadlines
·
Excellent written & verbal communication
skills
·
Strong organization skills with meticulous
attention to detail
·
Experience with MS office tools
(Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project)Flexibility to
work long hours and weekends when required
Additional Preferred Skills:
·
Extensive knowledge of either: hydraulic
and/or pneumatic actuators
·
Mill, lathe and welding experience
·
Knowledge of vehicle systems such as chassis
systems (suspension, steering, brakes etc.), body structure etc.
