The Role
The low voltage/electronic systems (LV/ES) test team is looking to bring on additional engineering technician to support test development and test execution. The LV/ES test team typically supports hardware validation for Autopilot, Infotainment, body controls, passive entry and sensors.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside reliability engineers, designers and test engineers to develop a test setup and aid in the execution of that test. The technician’s role typically includes
- Fabricating custom fixtures and harnesses and following a test schematic to properly connect equipment and devices under test
- Aid in the setup and tear down of the setup
- Work with engineers and facilities technicians to maintain a clean, safe and useable lab space
- This role will primarily support low voltage and electronic systems testing. Familiarity and experience with electronics is necessary
Requirements
- Multitask between a handful of projects and effectively prioritize day to day tasks, requiring minimal direct oversight
- Communicate effectively when a project or task is blocked and help drive to a solution
- Hands on experience with building harnesses
- Experience using crimpers
- Experience with wire splicing
- Familiar with wiring schematics
- Quality workmanship and able to test continuity and isolation of a built harness to confirm it matches the schematic
- Aware of wiring rules associated with sizing and fusing wires
- Soldering experience (components to PCBA, removing components from PCBA, wires into a connector, white wire onto a PCBA
- Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office
