Responsibilities
We are
looking for a highly skilled design manager who is passionate about our mission
to join our infrastructure engineering team with focus on R&D labs,
workplace, & light-manufacturing. In this role, you will be asked to drive
the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure
development from concept to build while also creating and enforcing design
standards across all developed locations. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in engineering, construction, and project management. The
role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving
multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to pull people
together to make things happen. This role requires you to be extremely detail
oriented, identify barriers, and drive the cross-functional teams to execute
quickly at high quality. You will drive collaboration between Engineering
disciplines, Construction, R&D, and operations to ensure our team’s goals
are aligned with company priorities. We are a demanding and fast-paced
environment, so being self‐motivated and disciplined is critical.
Requirements
- B.S. in Architecture,
Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering,
M.S preferred but not required - Ideally 9 years of experience on
large commercial or industrial construction projects - Experience managing
multi-disciplinary within A/E firms - Experience with
managing complex MEP projects - Full understanding of
all engineering disciplines and be able to demonstrate skills to manage
engineering resources. - Excellent written and verbal
communication, presentation skills using Microsoft Applications - Advanced knowledge and proven
delivery on Civil, Structural, and Architectural, Mechanical, electrical, life
safety and controls scopes, bonus if specific to manufacturing processes - Proven record in
delivery of IFB, IFP and IFC packages. - Experience designing
R&D facilities, workplace, and site infrastructure development - Experience working
with AHJ’s and be able to build strong relationship with local jurisdictions - Advanced project
management skills; can demonstrate application of project and program
management fundamentals to complex engineering problems. - Subcontractor and
third-party consulting firm management experience. - Ability to
effectively execute many projects and tasks in parallel. - Excellent
communication and documentation skills with ability to understand complex
problems and distill the message into a clear plan. - Communicate with
technical and non-technical team members effectively. - Positive, enthusiastic,
fast learner, can-do mindset and passionate about building complex
infrastructure. - Can adapt when under
pressure and in ambiguous environments. - Willingness to travel
to support infrastructure development as required in North America. - Construction Project
Management experience is a plus.
