Responsibilities
As the Construction Project Quality Manager – Gulf Coast Lithium Refinery, you will be playing a critical role in the construction of Tesla’s first lithium refinery plant near Corpus Christi, TX. You will proactively support the Site Manager in ensuring site quality standards are maintained in accordance with Tesla expectations and contract documents. You will be responsible for all QA/QC processes and procedures on the project site. This role will require collaboration across functional groups to ensure safe and quality installations. This is a role that requires sound technical judgement and creative problem-solving skills to support field operations.
Requirements
· Degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or civil preferred)
· 10+ years of relevant industry experience in a multi-disciplinary QC/QA role (heavy industrial, oil & gas, complex chemical plants)
· Previous practical experience on $500M+ projects, preferably with experience on both “owner” and “contractor” side
· Prior experience managing a construction site QA/QC program including knowledge of construction industry codes (AWS, ASME, NFPA, NEC, ACI, etc)
· Prior experience performing quality audits
· Broad knowledge of the quality principles and their application to engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, and commissioning
· Knowledge of the application of corrective actions to reconcile nonconforming conditions
· Knowledge of regulatory requirements which impact the quality program
· Ability to navigate between QC requirements of self-perform construction and QA oversight of sub-contractor construction
