Commercial Solar Preventative Maintenance Technical Specialist

As a Commercial Solar Preventative Maintenance Technical Specialist, your purpose is to maintain existing knowledge and consistently review incoming process data. You will maintain processes and procedures for products and services, as well as write and maintain the supporting documentation. Your role will primarily focus on ensuring all inspections completed by field teams are carried out per company standards by reviewing forms remotely. A high degree of technical writing skills is essential for this position.. You will be required to stay up to date on current issues and solutions.  A wide degree of creativity and self-motivation is expected. Success and accomplishment drive you and you are known for your fresh thinking and ability to view a situation from all perspectives.  


• Review incoming Commercial Solar PM data to find discrepancies and deviations from company standards and follow up on action items

• Build reports for high profile clients

• Work cross-functionally across multiple teams to improve existing process and conduct site visits to make inspections more efficient

• Document step-by-step documentation, photographs, drawings, Visio diagrams, and charts to increase users’ understanding of company systems, concepts, processes, procedures, and products

•Standardize content across the team’s learning and content management systems

•Proofread and edit your own work and work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness of documentation

•Stay up to date on all existing content 

• Up to 20% travel


• Bachelor’s Degree or Electrical license preferred 

• Experience in project management or field service in the Solar Industry

• Background in renewable energy with extensive knowledge of solar photovoltaics

• Professional composure, approachability, and interpersonal skills

•  Must be able to review complex information and identify discrepancies

• Excellent communication skills required to clearly articulate actions needed

• Excellent technical writing skills required with the proven ability to successfully communicate complex troubleshooting in a clear and organized manner

• Analytical skills with attention to detail including excellent proof-reading skills

•  Able to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment, with a forward-thinking mindset

•  Preferred knowledge of and experience with learning and content management systems and platforms

• High proficiency in MS Office Suite is required

• Proven time management and organizational skills

• Experience with SharePoint is a plus

• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background screen
