As a member of the Cell Team, this engineer will develop and maintain advanced physics-based models of cell manufacturing equipment, and use the modeling results to optimize the equipment design, setup and control performance. The candidate will also be expected to execute design of experiments to gather pertinent data to train, validate, and test the accuracy of the models.
MS or Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, Physics, Math or equivalent.
Experience in solving numerical solutions of PDEs and ODEs.
Experience in developing and solving finite element models (Ansys,COMSOL, Matlab, Simscale, Flow3D, PowerFlow)
3+ years’ experience in creating multi-physics models in the area of structural mechanics, thermal, and general transport- reaction processes. While not required, experience in structural mechanics modeling on lithium-ion cells is a strong plus.
