Responsibilities

The Tesla Energy EHS&S Associate
Manager is responsible for designing, driving and influencing EHS&S
excellence, regulatory compliance and risk management to achieve world class EHS&S
performance throughout Residential, Commercial & Industrial and Utility
Energy product deployment markets in North America. 

The individual will oversee EHS&S
Specialists and/or Technicians to ensure Tesla EHS&S standards are in place
and aligned with EHS&S department goals across Tesla Energy construction
and service works in all markets and drive the reduction of EHS&S risk
within the business through observation and risk reduction planning with teams
and partners responsible for designing, installing and servicing Tesla Energy
products. 

This role is an individual
contributor in the field and is a learning opportunity for an individual to
take on management responsibilities.

The role reports
to the Regional EHS&S Program Manager and works to influence, inspire,
and empower business operations staff, regional operations and service
leaders, stakeholders, EHS&S Committee members, and partner contractors
to implement and continuously improve Tesla’s EHS&S
strategy for building and maintaining a safe, healthy and
high performing workplace.

Requirements

•     4-year degree in safety, IH, physical sciences or
related field strongly preferred. 

  • Strong organizational, planning, and project
    management skills.
  • Strong communication and time
    management skills with the ability to work well independently and in
    teams. 
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with
    various stakeholders across multiple locations in a ‘first-principles’
    approach 
  • Ability to evaluate, analyze and establish
    effective and clear workflows. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office
    platform to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to as well as additional
    software management platforms.   
  • Experience maintaining web-based
    platforms required and SharePoint proficiency preferred. 
  • High tolerance of change and ability to adapt
    in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Have a minimum of
    3 years of progressive Environment, Health and Safety experience in
    organizations of scale and an educational degree in an EHS&S related
    field, engineering, or other related field of study.
  • Have a strong
    written and verbal communications skills with the ability to positively
    interact with top business management and staff, EHS&S leadership,
    regulators, project management staff and 3rd party clients
    and suppliers.
  • Ability to work at heights on residential rooftops and similar
    environments and be able to work within OSHA standards working at height
    including ability to climb and utilize ladders and fall protection equipment
    (harness, anchors, ropes, etc.) rated for a maximum capacity of 300lbs.
  • Have experience
    and an understanding of EHS&S regulatory systems and policy within the
    United States (knowledge of other countries regulations such as Canada,
    Mexico and South America is preferred)
  • Demonstrate
    experience in applying government and regulatory environmental, health or
    safety regulations in a variety of construction, operation and service
    works.
  • Have experience
    in delivering effective safety training
  • Have a strong
    understanding and competency to create communications and plans to multiple
    levels of the organization with success.
  • Demonstrate
    proficiency working with standard business software, including email,
    calendar management, word processing, presentation software, and
    spreadsheets.
  • This position
    requires a clean motor vehicle driving record.
  • This is a
    full-time position that occasionally requires frequent and extended travel
    to areas dependent on business needs.

 

Optional Preferences:

  • Safety
    certifications or professional designations such as Certified Safety
    Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or other
    relevant certifications.
  • Experience
    working directly within electric power generation, transmission, storage
    or distribution industries.
  • Ability to speak
    professionally in Spanish or other relevant language.
  • Experience
    with Cal/OSHA regulations, ISO standards 14001, 45001, or other relevant
    EHS&S requirements and accreditation schemes relevant to the energy
    generation, transmission, storage and distribution industries.
