The Role

Tesla is looking for a dynamic and creative Associate Emergency Services Lead Specialist (m/f/d) to join the global Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team. The candidate is familiar with the Emergency Services and Fire Brigade requirements in heavy industrial manufacturing facilities. 

Reporting to the Emergency Response Lead at the Gigafactory Berlin/Brandenburg, he or she will be responsible for ensuring Tesla operates in permit and legal compliance with regulations during all phases of site operations (construction, start-up, and full production). This position will also serve as the subject matter expert for Emergency Services and Fire Brigade and is the main regulatory point of contact for the facility in this specialist topic. 

This position will be based in Grünheide, Germany and may require some limited international travel (up to 10% of the time) to Tesla’s North American and EMEA operations. 

Requirements

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field of Fire Brigade, Emergency Response, Safety, environmental, mechanical or closely related EHS/Emergency Services discipline 

  • Legally recognized Certification in Fire Brigade Services, minimum volunteer Fire Brigade “F” qualification, Company fire department “B” qualification preferred  

  • Completion of the career examination / qualification to lead a company fire department (B4 / Brandinspektor / gehobener Feuerwehrtechnischer Dienst) desirable or the or the motivation to acquire the qualification 

  • Experience as deputy chief of a company fire department desirable 

  • Qualification in fire department technical service is a plus 

  • Experience in the field of Emergency Services and Fire Brigade for manufacturing facilities and/or construction projects 

  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to implement and comply with the regulations at a large manufacturing facility 

  • Demonstrated exceptional skills and proven success in Prevention and Responses programs 

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Exceptional organizational skills  

  • Fluency in German and English (verbal and written). 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
