ROLE SUMMARY:

The Indirect Spend Senior Financial Analyst will oversee cost management across a number of spend areas including (but not limited to) professional fees, subcontracting, and travel. This Senior Financial Analyst will partner with stakeholders within Finance, Purchasing, and across the business to put in place programs and initiatives to drive optimization of Rivian’s spend, with the ultimate goal of helping Rivian fulfill its mission of keeping the world adventurous forever.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with business leaders and key stakeholders across Finance and Purchasing to establish budgets, spend guidelines, tracking processes , and policies for indirect spend areas
  • Conduct analysis of spend trends and patterns; identify insights and leverage to drive cost reduction
  • Work with Finance Data & Analytics team to put in place dashboards and reporting, ensuring appropriate visibility into spend data
  • Coordinate across the Business Finance org to execute spend management initiatives
  • Work with business leaders and other stakeholders to identify creative approaches which maximize value while controlling spend

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA/CPA a plus) in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred 
  • Minimum 4+ years of related business experience in Finance, preferably in a public company 
  • Experience managing large budgets and/or managing cost management initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; experience with SAP and Tableau
  • Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, including ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously while flexibly prioritizing in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Continuous improvement attitude: ambition to suggest and implement best practices
