Responsibilities:

  • Help us take a data driven, systemic approach to engineering over the air software update system at Rivian
  • Work cross functionally with domain teams to resolve issues with software updates and drive better system design
  • Make code changes to vehicle firmware where appropriate to achieve system goals
  • Perform fleet level analysis of OTA performance to drive development and integration priorities
  • Perform system analysis from the vehicle level down to the component software level
  • Design and develop software tooling to assist with integration and testing
  • Design and develop regression test cases

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working on complex, cross functional distributed embedded systems
  • Experience with systems engineering and analysis
  • Experience with networked embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, DOIP, ISOTP)
  • Experience developing data analysis tools in scripting languages such as Python, Javascript, Matlab
  • Experience with Linux systems
  • Experience reading and understanding embedded software from a systems perspective
  • Excellent communication and cross functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automotive software updates
  • Experience with embedded flashing protocols (UDS, XCP)
  • Experience with TCP/IP systems
  • Experience with compiled languages (C / C++ / Rust)
  • Experience with systems engineering analysis tools (FMEA, DFMEA, HARA)
  • Experience with databases
  • Experience with remote connected systems
