Polestar is blazing a new trail, dedicating ourselves to the development and refinement of electric vehicle performance. Your experience as a Mechanic for our new test facility would be invaluable to us both in concept work and when working with current designs for increased customer satisfaction.

This position is based at our new test facility in Trollhättan, Sweden.

What you’ll do
Our test facility, part of the Propulsion department within Polestar, have a mission to deliver results which exceed the customers’ expectations. The test facility is in the startup and build phase and will include roles from mechanics, test engineers to material and logistics coordination.

The area of responsibility is to build and prepare test objects in development phase together with the other teams within the Propulsion department. This also includes disassembly and analyses after test activity. The team works continually with improvement and increase the efficiency of the activities.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Build and preparation of propulsion test objects
    • Adaptions and custom work with fittings and consoles
    • Mounting of test equipment
    • Markings and logging of samples
  • Installation and adaptions of test objects into test rigs
  • Document parts before and after test activity

Who you are
You have a strong will to create the future of electric vehicles – it’s probably fair to call you an EV nerd passionate about solving climate changes. As a person you are driven with a can-do mindset. You are collaborative, enthusiastic, analytical and well-organized and not afraid to try new approaches and out of the box methods.

Furthermore, you have a holistic view, including vision, business, and customers. You have excellent communication skills and who is motivated by challenges, enjoys building teams and cooperate with others to reach common goals. You are energized by working in a creative start-up environment, taking action where you see potential and creating structure where needed.

To be successful in this role we believe you have:

  • Education as a mechanic (minimum 3 years)
  • Certified to work with high voltage
  • At least 5-10 years of work experience in similar position
  • Experience with fault tracing tools (Can Analyzer, Inca, others)
  • Experience from work in the automotive industry
  • Forklift, BE or CE license is meritorious
