The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation, review, and submission of bi-weekly payroll for the United States and Canada. You will ensure the employee experience is always top of mind and work with a high level of professionalism. This role will be integral in ensuring state and federal payroll compliance, all annual regulatory filings and reports are timely submitted. As the Payroll Manager you will be responsible for accurately recording and processing payroll transactions including salary changes, benefits, garnishments, etc. You will be well versed in processing payroll in multiple states and provinces, understanding compliance with all government regulations and laws.

This role will sit in our North American HQ based in Mahwah, New Jersey while working as part of growing global Human Resources team.

What you’ll do

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for the United States (90~ employees) and Canada (10~ employees), ensuring high level of accuracy
  • Manage processing of payroll items such as terminations, taxes, garnishments, benefits, and other deductions in ADP WorkforceNow
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reporting of payroll updates and transactions
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local payroll laws while remaining keen to evolving laws and legislation
  • Prepare and file all regulatory and required reporting including quarterly and year-end reports for all state and federal compliance requirements
  • Report and process employee leave and disability entitlements
  • Serve as a first point of contact for general employee inquiries and requests for benefits and payroll items
  • Liaise with Finance and HR for any necessary reconciliations and reporting
  • Collaborate with local and global HR to drive the roll out of new initiatives and programs

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant position
  • 5+ years of experience processing multi-jurisdictional payroll
  • Advanced knowledge of ADP Payroll (Workforce Now) is required
  • Experience working with a large corporation with multi-state employees highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing procedures, SOX compliance and best practice
  • Proven ability to manage multiple payrolls, tasks, and deadlines
  • Workday HCM experience not required, but preferred
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have strong attention to detail and can work analytically
  • An HR professional who can maintain highest degree of confidentiality when handling all personnel data
  • You are a self-starter and are energized by problem solving
  • You thrive in a fast paced, autonomous working environment
