Due to aggressive growth plans Polestar is currently looking to recruit an EDS DVP Engineer.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities:

The EDS Technician is responsible for;

  • Support the selects of relevant EDS requirements per program. Gain agreements to the requirements with the High voltage and Low voltage harness and component Suppliers.
  • Support the set-up of EDS DVP&R for your responsible program ensuring the plan is correctly communicated to stakeholders
  • Manage EDS Bill of Designs.
  • Participate in EDS design/development meetings (EDS) to understand and be aware of issues.
  • Report all test results, including vehicle and board test and support the risk matrix of possible failures to Electrical engineering and wider teams.
  • Support the problem solving and critical path analysis for all phases of the program design life.  
  • Advise on subsequent engineering design changes and develop retest plans where required.
  • Track EDS Deviations and Exceptions for requirements that cannot be met and ensure that they get approved.
  • Participate in Quality History, Campaign prevention, DFMEA and FMA reviews ensuring correct cascade of actions from those reviews.
  • UK based Hybrid role. Applicants must be able to travel between Polestar sites and already be eligible to work in the UK.

Academic Requirements

You’ll have relevant automotive experience, with a high level of exposure to vehicle design & development activities. Your experience will include a demonstrable track record of planning and conducting vehicle test plans and a thorough understanding of wiring harness quality processes.

  • Degree level in electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous practical design experience from an automotive or aerospace background.
  • Experience of Automotive DVP process and tools.
  • Understanding of vehicle EDS and electrical systems.
  • Practical ability for vehicle mechanical and electrical diagnosis.
  • Working knowledge of DVP, FMEA, PPAP and APQP.
  • Knowledge of vehicle assembly process, especially EDS related aspects.
  • Understanding of EDS design and development process.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Projects
  • Excellent communication skills
