As a member of the management team of the Cloud & Connectivity division of MBRDNA, the person who fills this role will manage 5-10 software developers. The team will be responsible for developing, maintaining, supporting, and testing complex automation around cloud-based infrastructure and services that provide DevSecOps capabilities to numerous development teams around the world. Those development team develop features for millions of drivers around the world.  Depending on the use cases supported, these services may have thousands of transactions per minute, complex business logic, multiple-9 uptime requirements, etc. The team and the manager will be required to be a member of a 24/7 on-call rotation so the software can be supported in all markets world-wide. 

All teams within Cloud & Connectivity interact and collaborate with development teams in India, Germany, and China.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Hire, lead, instruct, support, and coach individual team members to create and maintain an innovative, friendly, inclusive, and challenging work environment
  • Drive a culture of agile, scalable, maintainable, and frugal infrastructure, automation and software development within the team
  • Be an active participant in technical design and architecture decisions
  • Manage and supervise contractors and/or interns as required
  • Build and maintain relationships with business sponsors in Germany and the US
  • Partner with the Product Owners and align on technical feasibility of features and their delivery dates
  • Create and execute on a product vision that is aligned with stakeholders, sponsors, and product owners
  • Set and enforce quality gates for all products using data-driven methods
  • Support the team during on-call duties
  • Deliver reports and feedback to local and German management. Organize meetings and taskforces as required
  • Research and implement innovative solutions to improve products and development environment
  • Be an active member of the Cloud & Connectivity management team

    Minimum Qualifications:

     

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years’ experience with back-end service oriented development, cloud infrastructure, or infrastructure as code (IaC) automation
  • Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies
  • Ability to guide change management across a diverse organization
  • Software infrastructure design and architecture skills capable of sparking consideration of alternative views amongst senior developers
  • Experienced in effectively mentoring team members
  • Adept computer science fundamentals
  • Previous experience (1+ years) in a leadership position (e.g. manager, team lead, or architect) within a software development, infrastructure or SRE team
  • Work within a local team as well as collaborate with numerous international teams
  • Organize, develop, and lead an agile team practicing DevOps
  • Quickly understand and assimilate business vision and goals in all solutions and translate technical information to teams
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively function in an interrupt-driven high visibility environment
  • Excellent analytical & problem solving skills
  • Ability to innovate and be creative
  • Solve problems and have the tenacity to drive issues to conclusion
  • Proficient written and verbal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from a wide range of job functions
  • Some domestic and international travel will be required (less than 15%)
  •  

    Preferred Qualifications:

     

  • 7-10 years of experience recommended
  • 2+ years of CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipeline process experience in development and production environments
  • Prior experience in agile or DevOps transformational efforts within large-scale or global organizations
  • Prior experience leading day-2 operations or SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) is a plus
  • German language skill is a plus but not necessary
