Technical Program Managers at Lyft drive cross-functional initiatives, leveraging strong leadership, planning, communication, and collaboration skills. Our TPMs are technically strong with a combination of software and/or hardware engineering experience. TPMs at Lyft are both strategic and tactical and do what it takes to successfully deliver key programs that have a material impact on the business.

The individual in this role will be focused on our NPI engineering efforts for Lyft’s TBS (Transit, Bikes & Scooters) products.  The focus will be on driving the creation of our next generation e-bikes and/or scooters, leading the cross-functional team from concept through product launch and eventually into mass production.   In addition, this role will also be responsible for the development of a small team of technical program managers, with opportunities to grow the team in the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Support product definition and drive closure to architecture, technical opens, and supply chain impact during the early stages of a program
  • Identify and highlight technical risk areas and mitigation strategies in collaboration with cross-functional partners
  • Communicate key developments and updates on new projects/products at the executive level
  • Establish and manage program feature baseline, scheduling, critical path, and technology risks areas for execution.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, including ME, EE, PD, Software, Operations, NPI in engineering and validation activities.
  • Planning and management of iterative hardware builds through our PDP (product development process)
  • Coach and mentor a small group of technical program managers (2-3 direct reports)

Experience:

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects with multiple dependencies and constraints, in a dynamic and agile environment
  • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams
  • Experience with roadmaps, release plans, project plans with dependency management
  • Able to communicate technical problems and solutions to management
  • Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail
  • At least 10 years of program management and/or hardware engineering experience 
  • At least 3 years of management experience in management
