The successful candidate will lead the design, development and implementation of new structural concepts within the vehicle high voltage battery pack. They will be responsible for working collaboratively with the supply base as well as internal members of the HV team and larger company to deliver the physical components in a time- and cost-sensitive manner with safety being the first and foremost priority.
Responsibilities:
Manage parts from initial conceptual design to prototype phase, and serial production
3D design and GD&T drawings of complex parts and assemblies
Integrate mechanical designs with high voltage electrical systems in a multidisciplinary environment
Drive communication between Lucid and external Suppliers
Direct associated component and system validation testing for your designs
Manage multiple complex challenges within a fast-paced environment
Be able to demonstrate technical excellence and apply first-principle engineering to new applications
Requirements:
Background in High Voltage Battery systems with experience designing structural components
Previous ownership of complex parts that have shipped in volume
6+ years of professional structural design experience
Strong CAD experience, proficient with CATIA or similar software
Strong materials knowledge. Good understanding of various material/grades and their tradeoffs, as well as coatings
Intimately familiar with various global automotive standards and best practices
Well-developed team working and interpersonal skills
