About the Role:
Are you interested in owning the bring up of Autonomous driving and product features for a new vehicle platform? If so, we are looking for a Staff Vehicle Integration Engineer to partner with AV Software, Embedded Software, Hardware Systems, General Motors, and Program teams to ensure Cruise products deliver on key results! In this role, you will manage a team of integration engineers dedicated to issue identification, triage, and root cause analysis of challenges discovered during integration activities.
What you’ll be doing:
- Drive the creation and execution of integration plans to meet program requirements for new Cruise vehicle platforms
- Lead integration of autonomous systems and host vehicle components through code debugging
- Work with multi-functional teams to drive design changes by balancing short-term improvements and long-term solutions
- Resolve issues ranging from sensors, performance, networking, AV software, and embedded systems
- Partner with testing teams on process improvements for subsystem and component testing
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with multi-functional groups: including technicians, operators, engineers, and external partners
What you must have:
- 10+ years of experience working in automotive, robotics, consumer electronics, or aerospace industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience programming C++ and/or Python for production environments
- Hands-on experience working with and debugging complex hardware and software systems
- Ability to read through vehicle and component schematics, datasheets, and communication architecture
- Passion for autonomous technology and growing and mentoring teams
- Experience with robotics middleware and communication such as ROS and/or DDS
- Experience developing or working on an end-to-end robotics or automotive system
Bonus Points!
- Experience in interfaces between the vehicle platform, actuators, vehicle software, and communication network
- Understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN / CANFD, LIN, Ethernet, etc). Strong understanding of networking concepts
The salary range for this position is $170,000 – 250,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
