The safety and systems team is looking for a lead to standardize and advance the process and infrastructure by which Cruise manages issues. In this position you will develop policies, procedures, and processes related to issue identification, management and remediation. This work is critical to enabling the fast paced development and growth Cruise leverages to scale driverless fleets to new markets internationally and across the United States. You will be tasked to understand the unique challenges of software development and validation within the AV space, develop metrics, processes and tooling that will be used to increase the efficacy of issue management and continuous improvement at Cruise. What you’ll be doing: 

  • Implement a scalable end to end issue management framework to establish governance across multiple organizational competencies

  • Establish systematic, ongoing, process change management to ensure that test converge, and capacity are effective at preventing escapes

  • Partner with multi-functional teams to assure proper data integrity and linkage is in place in accordance with regulatory compliance requirements

  • Partner with issue owners to ensure a complete understanding of deliverables for outstanding Corrective Action Plans and milestones

  • Lead projects without authority by establishing strong relationships across all of Cruise

  • Generate data-driven analysis to influence decision making and project prioritization
     

What you must have:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a sophisticated product development environment

  • Very comfortable operating in an ambiguous and dynamic startup environment with an evolving project scope.

  • Strong at communicating data-driven decisions to executive audiences

  • Experience building or innovating change control processes 

  • Passion for process development and optimization 

  • Ability to balance strategies using automation, process, tooling, and people as solutions

  • Proficient with Looker or similar data visualization tools

  • Proficient querying databases like Big Query

  • Ability to learn quickly, starting with little information and quickly becoming a specialist in your domain

  • BS or MS in Engineering or related field or equivalent combination education and experience

Bonus points!  

  • Advanced degree in related fields.

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma.

  • Experience in rideshare, mobility, fleet management, or at a startup or tech company.

  • Experience working with requirements and safety management systems

The salary range for this position is $146,300 – 215,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
